Recently I bought an item from a seller in the US, paid for the item to be delivered to Australia via the Global Shipping Program. I was given a tracking number, which showed the progress of the delivery. However the progress changed from In Transit to Delivered in Erlanger, KY. I understand that with the GSP the seller posts the item to Pitney Bowes Inc. in Erlanger and they re-package it and send it to Australia. However, is it odd that the status says delivered? Will the tracking get updated with the new international tracking number and change back to in transit again? I've never used this service before and I'm a bit apprehensive. I've contacted the seller but they're as much clueless as me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

100% agree. Its great and cost effective service for larger items.
I also agree, and so do many others that have posted on this thread over the last five and a half years.

as shown in the recent election campaign, screenshots of removed social media content brought about the downfall of several candidates from all sides of politics. Those candidates had deleted their Facebook and other social media accounts before nominating . . . . probably thinking that would prevent others from scrutinising their online activity.
Had it not been for screenshots those candidates could have just denied any wrongdoing while claiming the moral high ground.

There is no need to add to this old thread.....the responders here know it is slow and very expensive for small parcels.

When parcel after parcel, disapperars in Erlanger transit station. No calls for delivery, if it gets over the Atlantic . You start to understand the pattern . Its not worth it . Im not buying from USA again . China is much better, I get my stuff hassle free.

And this adds value to an OLD AUSTRALIAN thread how?
Is Norway part of the EU? If so, I wouldn't sell to you given the distance selling regulations.
I wouldn't buy from China, either, but I'm not into buying cheap junk.

Hi, due to the Corona Virus issue, there are delays. I do understand your frustration. And with the Pitney Bowes GSP things that were always slower are going to slow down even more. Also with the links in the chain that it has, there will be issues. I avoid auctions and salles that have it.
However, I had an item coming via USPS from Hawaii. It had made its way to LA and then another stage. Then the tracking ended and for a month it wasn't showing any movement on the tracking. Where was my parcel???? I rung Aust Post and they said they couldn't even see anything on the radar to say it was on our shores. Then following day I got an update that it was ready to be picked up. Needless to say, I was happy.
For the US, USPS with tracking is a better and faster way.
Also please note that some items can be deemed restricted by Pitney Bowes and they can be confiscated. Could that be an issue? I also remember hearing here that an electric guitar was confiscated by them too, later to be sold on a website (outlet ) or theirs, presumably FS within the US.

The bumper is in Norway. I would hope his items aren't transitting through LA. And I doubt ringing Autralia Post is going to prove fruitful.

Well, if anyone else reads this and they have a similar situation then maybe reading this will give them an idea of what's going on.
