Global Shipping Program

I arranged to combine several items won at auction with a seller. When that seller attempted to create an invoice (as you do), the response was

:

"Send Invoice to Buyer
Error
Warning
you can't send invoice for this order
The item(s) will ship using the Global Shipping Program. As part of the program, buyer directly pays international shipping and import charges to the third-party shipping provider. The buyer will still be able to complete checkout even if you don't send an invoice."

The seller has suggested that the sales be cancelled if the itemns cannot be considered as one parcel.

SO:

Is it possible to  combine items into one postal article with the Global Shipping Program? How, if so?

If not, how does a seller opt out of this program for existing listings? or is this program mandatory (doubt it - other US sellers don't seem to have this problem).

ANY response will be delightfully received. Thanks.

Global Shipping Program

Alternate way to deal with cancelling GSP for specific transactions and combining shipment, copied from US ebay response to seller:

"Thanks for your call in regard to "How to cancel Global Shipping Program for a specific sale". As you notice seller cannot send invoice to the buyer because its automatically being done by the Global Shipping. In order stop this for a specific sale your buyer needs to send you a "Payment Request Total" from their end.

Here's how they do it. (Applicable for Auction Format)

1. Go to www.ebay.com.au and sign-in.
2. Go to My Ebay and go to Purchase History.
3. Look for the purchase/transaction that you wish to cancel the global shipping and click on the title of the listing.
4. It will redirect to a page that will show "You won this auction with a Pay Now" button and at the same page you'll see the Winning bid amount and right next to it should be the number of bid(s)
5. Click on the number of bid(s) and as a winning bidder your buyer will see their user ID, the winning bid amount, bid time and action. Click on More actions and select on "request total".

Note: Buyer should do this to each purchase/transaction they wish to cancel the global shipiping.

As soon as the buyer click on "Request Total", seller should now be able to send invoice, do combine shipment."

Global Shipping Program

I found the following in several places, below is copied from a post by chezzy -

" went digging around on the eBay US boards and found the steps needed for the seller to 'opt out' of the Global Shipping Program. I messaged my seller with that info and lo and behold I was soon able to use buy it now as normal (seller had not known the process to opt out prior to that). For anyone interested it appears to be:

(My eBay summary page)

account > site preferences > shipping preferences > Offer the Global Shipping Program > edit > no

You won't see those options on the Aussie ebay but if you are curious to see what it looks like yourself you can probably just log in via the ebay.com site and have a look (and spread the word to those US sellers who are willing to be flexible on the shipping situation)."

Also discovered that it's impossible to combine postage. ..... !

Silly system.
