Hi -
I've found a listing for some in-ceiling speakers from a US based company that are a good price (compared to what I can get in New Zealand). They can be shipped, again for what I think is a very reasonable price, to Australia by the GSP. The item, however, does not ship to New Zealand. I contacted the seller and they said it was nothing to do with them and eBay had specified where they could and couldn't ship. Plenty of other companies are selling in-ceiling speakers (but, alas, not the ones I want) and will ship to NZ using the GSP. I mentioned this to the seller, but they still think it is a limit imposed by eBay. Is this the case, or is there something they have missed in setting up their listing so items can be ship to NZ. Surely if you can ship items to Australia you could ship them to NZ as well?

No, this is something imposed by the GSP and is out of the sellers hands if they are using that service.
Unfortunately, you have come across a seller who does not realise that GSP can be over ridden and that they can ship via an alternative method.
Really no point in trying to expalin to them, just move on and look elsewhere.

I have a feeling that ebay lumps NZ in with Asia, and does not do this wiith Australia, so it may be a case of some specific country blocks set up by the seller are conflicting with the GSP,and they will override the GSP countries.
Check the sellers exclusion list on the shipping and payments page. The answer may the there.
Ebay never got a foothold in New Zealand and the country has been treated with what often seems like deliberate confusion ever since.

Thanks for the suggestions -
I'm assuming it must be in something they way they have set it up, or, there is no rhyme or reason to the GSP! For example, they ship to multiple Eastern European locations but they exclude shipping to France, Belgium and Germany. There list of countries they ship to seems incredibly random:
United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Estonia, Australia, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Slovenia
It is frustrating as the shipping price seems to be really good - I've read a lot of complaints about the GSP being overly expensive for smaller items, but for larger items the prices seem to be very reasonable (so much so I wonder if there are mistakes in some listings). The seller doesn't really seem that interested in making it eligble for shipping to NZ through the GSP which is a shame, especially if it is a simple fix with the way the list the auciton.

It seems clear that the problem is the seller's pre-existing blocks are over-riding the GSP eligibility.
The seller may not know they are even in the GSP, and I doubt if they have considered the effects of their blocks which take priority over the GSP country list
THis is one for the seller to deal with. Good luck with getting them to understand it.
