That's very true about Bunnings. I used one a few weeks ago that was given to me when our old Bunnings was still open. The new one is 6 years old. Big W on the other hand, they make a killing from forgotten cards. I lost $200 because I'd put a gift card away until I found something I really wanted. Forgot about it and it was 2 months out of date when I remembered it. Big W said tough luck. The money is theirs now.

JB Hi-Fi gift cards also have no expiry. From the T&C on their website:
All Gift Cards sold at JB Hi-Fi or at third party locations do not expire. Gift Cards can be redeemed at any time even if a Gift Card specifies an expiry date.

At the time, many years ago, eBay gift cards couldn't be purchased in Australia.
Apparently last year they became available to purchase in Australia.
