Has PayPal removed ability to email seller?

From memory when an item was purchased and I recieved receipt from paypal after payment the sellers paypal address was listed but I suddenly find that this is no longer the case unless I'm missing something.

No they no longer provide the email address, either due to privacy issues - or more likely due to eBay pressuring them so that buyers can no longer contact the seller without going through eBay itself.

eBay has a paranoia about buyers contacting sellers and visa versa in case they try to do off-eBay deals, which IMHO is rubbish.

OK thanks I thought as much but hoped it was just my paranoia. As they say though, just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean they're not trying to get you.

I bought an item for someone else and I was just going to give them the sellers PayPal and ebay item number so they could pay for it directly.
