High postage cost

I just recieved my item today and I'm overal very pleased with the goods but not the postage/handling fee. I fully agreed to pay the postage cost when I hit 'buy' button BUT I didn't expect to get majorly ripped off either.

They charge $6 for standard postage.

Well item turns up to doay...The package costs $1.05 (even cheaper if bought in bulk) and the stamp $1.40 (two 70cents stamps).

Plus, the package it came in is padded bag so there wasn't charges for bubble wrap.

Sooo..the "handling fee" is $3.55? That seems to be a bit high, right?

Just a thought for the OP. Did you need to sign for the letter? As it may have been registered so the seller met his PP protection obligations. It would explain the xtra cost.

You did better then me. I was charged $2.00 postage for a pen that was put in an envelope with a 70cent stamp on it, no padded bag, no bubble wrap or protection at all. To make matters worse the incorrect pen was sent. I have emailed the seller and requested the correct item or a refund be provided with in 7 days. In reality the correct item could be posted and received in half that time. 7 days not up yet, and I am still waiting for a response.

I doubt that the pay for someone packing parcels is $80 000 per year, making your comment meaningless.

Whos to say it would only be one 20kg parcel.

I just  gave up sending breakables full stop.

Is Ebay the only online retail outlet were buyers expect to pay stamp cost for shipping items.?

I buy my pens from my local newsagent.

And $2.00 postage is not excessive for anything.
