I noticed there are homophobic reviews of Billy Elliot the musical AND there is NO WAY to write a positive review for the CD. As soon as you try you are asked to leave (and not publish your counter review) or asked to cancel your review.
I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS GAY RIGHTS TO LOCATE Billy Elliot The Musical - Original Cast Recording CD (Item # 165169725452) and send the two so-called reviewers the following message - WHAT A HOMOPHOBIC PIECE OF **bleep** YOU ARE!
How many other listings have false reviews from homophobes which eBay will not let you disagree with because the review process has been hacked to stop dissenting opinions?

Or it is exactly as I said. You are just obfuscating the issue by not trying to write a positive review yourself. By all means prove me wrong. Show me a favourable review can be written about the CD.

Yes. I bought the special 2cd edition from eBay in England a couple of years ago.

Oi captain outraged.
Have you read the message from stawks... message #18?
Have you purchases the item in question?

I don't think 'a couple of years ago' works for leaving a review on ebay.
Too long ago.
But you see now, that no-one can leave a review without purchasing, so all this abuse is just a waste of time.

already answered that question. Try and keep up, luv.

Do you think I may have been composing my question at the same time as you answered stawks.

If these are the reviews you are offended by then please explain why you feel they are homophobic.
Is it because of the 1 star ratings?
OP gave the item # and I tend to agree with you.
How are those reviews homophobic?

@stawks
I posted the screengrab of the two reviews because I didn’t want my spell checker to change any of the wording. The screengrab also shows the star rating of the two reviews . . . something the OP has interpreted as being a negative review.

The two homophobic pieces of **bleep** who negatively reviewed the CD have made it so that no-one else can positively review the CD. Their negative reviews are the ONLY ones allowed. And that is the insidious homophobia which exists in Australia!
the reviews I read were not negative. They weren’t favourable, but that doesn’t make them negative.
Also, a 1 star rating is not a negative review. Again, not favourable, but also not negative.

The reviews I saw someone post didn't seem homophobic, it just sounded as if they didn't like the CD.
So here's a question for you: Should people be obliged to like a piece of music, (or art or anything else for that matter) simply because the singer/artist/performer was homosexual?
Of course not. That's as twisted as being homophobic. A person's sexuality shouldn't come into it.
You're not giving people enough credit. If a review about a CD focused mainly on irrelevant matters instead of the actual contents, don't you think most people would realise that?
I also think ebay or any other review site would eventually remove such reviews if alerted to them.
But on ebay, unless I am mistaken, you can only write a review for something you have actually bought and not all the time for every item even then.
Asking us to go write a review to chastise another reviewer is out of order. Totally. Most of us here couldn't get to write a review about that CD because we have never bought it and some of us will never have heard it.
Reviews are for impartial & honest comments about a product, they are not for personal bickering. The boards here are for that.😁
