How do I report a member? I won a bid, seller said it was broken, now has relisted. Liar!

How do I report a buyer, it is really difficult to find the right department on their website.

We won a bid for a coffee table, item 292411972815, the owner said it was damaged beyond repair and couldn't sell it, and has now listed the exact same table Item 292432415175.  We've all sold items and not got the $ we were expecting, this is just dishonest.

Ebay relies on the honesty of its seller and buyers to operate!

despite the fact the seller probably did the wrong thing by you - all anyone has to do is look over the feedback you've left for others and they'll see that dealing with you as a buyer is one of those nightmare experiences that most sellers don't want to have to put up with.

that added to the way you treat seasoned and respected members of the discussion forums who are doing nothing but trying to give their time to help others..

Oh man! I can tell you a story just about this kind of thing where an associate of mind bid on and won a collectable vintage 1970s Hi-Fi item. He won it for $40. Usually these itemss go for over $200. Seller who was based in the UK was silent for a few days then came up with a story he dropped it on his kitchen floor.   I stepped in as my associate was the timd type. I asked the seller for the item and I would help my associate repair it. After some back and forth messaging, He said   .. ..   " I threw it in the rubbish bin and it was collected on Tuesday". Well, I rung up the local council close to his address (We got his address) and the bins were not collected on the day he said.

The story stunk from the beginning. I knew by his demeanour that he was lying.

You have my sympathy. I hope that you get some kind of satisfaction here. This kind of behavour from some sellers ruins it for all of us. Thankfully the majority of sellers are OK. Sadly there are some very verydishonest people out there selling stuff.

Genuine question 4channel...... what day was it and what time was it here in Australia when you rang the UK council?

I'm rather impressed you would go to such lengths to help your friend.

Bit off topic but I saw this was in answer to 4channels? and being curious, I went in to have a look at the feedback 4 channels left for others. Looked only at the most recent 10 pages, not all the way back, admittedly.

As far as feedback goes, I have to say that 4channels is the sort that I think is actually very informative. Nearly all of it is positive & the comments are detailed and individual. If there is a neg, I'd be inclined to believe his comment because there are hardly any negs. If I were selling & saw his feedback about sellers, I would not class him as a nightmare at all, quite the opposite.

With regard to DG's reply, I think it is brilliant. It's a fantastic example of critical, more complex thinking, not just jumping to conclusions.

I still think though that in relation to 4 channels  stereo etc, the seller just made up a story to get out of the sale. It never ended up in any bin, anywhere but once the person had told the particular lie they did, there is no way they could back down without losing face. Sale was never going to happen, no matter how much investigative work went into it.

fair call springy - i changed the feedback to 200 per page and there were only a few pages to scroll through. there were quite a number of negatives and all of them seemed argumentative - in just about every case, sellers responded and said how difficult the buyer was ti deal with; which is why i commented what i did.

it seems over recent time though, the negatives being dished out have lessened, which is probably an indication of experience dealing with the system.

lm-entertainment , great to see you have time on your hands to trawl my feedback to see wyat you can dig up. Well done!  Great to see you have the willingness to say "you as a buyer is one of those nightmare experiences ". You are very dedicated in attempting to portray me in a certain  light.

* First of all, the seller did not do the wrong thing by me. Please get it right here!  It was a mate of mine that was done wrong by. I tried to help him as he was the timid type and was news to ebay. Plus, I'm not one to stand by while someone else has the wong thing done by them.

Now about those negatives that I left (The ones you noticed when you went to see what you could dig up on me LOL  :smileylol, every single one of them with the exception of maybe one, were sellers who were not honest. I tried everything to get it sorted in a nice way which I like to do but couldn't because of them.  After all avenues exhausted, then well! All were not doing the right thing and a couple were scamming. 3 of them are nonlonger registered.

I have rating of 566 and have only left about 6 or 7 negs in all of the near 16 years I have been a member, both buying and selling. Never left a neg as a seller (I  the days when you could) Only one of those negs I maybe should have left as a neutral. But the seller had no English skills and was silent for a few weeks after multiple attempts to contact.

You say .... " that added to the way you treat seasoned and respected members of the discussion forums who are doing nothing but trying to give their time to help others.. "

LOL.

Im-entertainment, you said  .. ... .  "there were quite a number of negatives and all of them seemed argumentative - in just about every case, sellers responded"

well, actually out of all the negatives I left, which is no more than 10. Only 5 were followed up by the sellers.

* The last neg I left was last year. After all avenues exhausted, I left a neg. So did a bunch of other sellers all around the same time. 12 other negs for that seller. And there is more to this story as well.

* The one before that was my first (If memory serves me right) experience dealing with Global shipping. Seller said that they (GSP) would send me an invoice which never happened. I contacted the seller numoerus times, no reply. Then the sod opened a non-payment case against me. I rung eBay and the young lass (very nice) said to me she could see I had been trying to contact seller about this and no reply. Said mot to worry about the non-payment, they would take it off. I never got my item so I left a negative as it was a negative experience.

*  The one before that was cruddy dvd sleeves that were super tight and scratched my dvds. I contacted seller about this and he wasn't interested. I opened a case and in order to get a refund I had to pay post to send intems back. In the end I was out of pocket over 8 bucks

* The one before that was due to a defective record LP that was damaged from maunfacture with a crease that was almost developing into a crack. Strange QC for the presser never picked it up. Seller never did either.  I brought it to his attention and he ignored me. yeah he replied.

All others were warrented. another a seller was ttrying to way to overcharge on post.

You said ....  "it seems over recent time though, the negatives being dished out have lessened, which is probably an indication of experience dealing with the system. "

No! You are inaccurate again. It's just that the sellers have been good as of late. Honest and thorough in their grading. And sometimes I now look at the negative rating of a seller before I buy.

Im-entertainment, you are very inaccurate. never mind.

hardly digging up on you.. it took 5 seconds.. a far stretch from ringing the UK to find out lical council rubbish collection dates.

the seller indirectly didn’t do the right thing by you by oissing off your friend. otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone to the lengths you did to find out what happened. insult me all you like, but i can read.

as for the way you treat people on these boards, i’m nkt the first one to state this simple fact.. even in this thread. it was my personal observation.

i’ll end this here, because no matter of information, or anything anyone says will sit well with you - that’s made clear by your initial post and the lengths you went to for your friend. you can pick whatever i write to pieces all you like, it really doesn’t bother me - further proof of your pettiness.

Oh, and another neg I left some years ago was because nearly 2 months a movie on VHS never arrived. When it did arrive just after 2 months, it was also a bootlegged copy. Recorded onto an Agfa blank VHS tape. BUt seller used a pic of the official version.

And the very first neg I ever left was over 11 years ago from a highly dishonest seller who misgraded the item he had up for auction. He ignored my attempts to contact him about this. So I left a neg. Her revenge negged me and lied about offering me a replacement.
He was the one who charged $5 internet fee (Those were his words) and what the heck is an internet fee on top of a payment?
