There are a few reasons to retract a bid.
Seeing as yours is a genuine one, you simply retract and replace the correct bid.
Click on the number of bids next to the price and to the bottom is a link named learn more.
Keep in mind when bidding that commas don't register, you need to use a fullstop between the numbers.
Hence the reason for a $10.00 item to register as $1000.

Don't feel so bad......have accidentally done same myself 2-3 times in last 5 years!
As it happens, last time I did this was yesterday!
You get panic stricken at first...... then you feel like a real dope
......I retracted a bid on a $50.00 item, as I had bid $1500.00 (nice fabric!!)
I suggest bidders watch the use of the 'fullstop' on computer keyboard and placement of the fullstop or decimal point when bidding.
.....as soon as my retracted bid was accepted, I naturally, placed my intended starting bid price on same item.
