How is a seller able to end a sale ( with bids) to sell it to me, why isn't item in purchased

After purchasing an item using buy it now I asked seller a question about another listed item, seller said she would sell for x amount, I asked if it was legal to do so when people were bidding on it. The seller said she was allowed and the item was ended, free postage for direct debit and now item shows as ended due to error in listing, not appearing in my purchase history ( think it means no fees for eBay or PayPal) how is this within the rules?

The seller is circumventing ebay fees in doing what they are and can be reported to ebay for this.

Sounds like they will add the price to the invoice of the other purchase.

But sellers can end a listing with bids up till 12 hours to go then it can not be ended.

seller is offering free postage for direct debit BUT you would have zero buyer protection.

I thought the buy it now option disappeared when a bid was placed, this seller writes contact for buy it now in the body of the listing . There are a lot of her sales that just disappear mid auction which seems unfair. I paid her $350 for the second item but I cannot leave any feedback as it is not in my purchase.
I am not sure how to report ( as you say) and for what. The seller seems very nice and accommodating however there were some issues with the first item I bought and I ended up leaving negative feedback, she sent me an abusive email calling me f&$)@ insane.
I think she has multiple accounts in eBay and I wonder as a buyer how you are able to discover this before dealing with the person. I think she is very dishonest. I have had a number of very bad experiences lately after years of buying on eBay I wonder if eBay promoting free sales to new sellers is contributing to this?
