How is it that an item decreases in it's current bid? I started watching at $2300, now $2027

I started watching an item yesterday at current bid $2300 , then it went to $2325 current bid and today it is $2927 current bid.  As a first time prospective buyer, and with 4 hours left on the item, I am thoroughly confused.

buyers can retract a bid and sellers can cancel bids.  This can account for the bids you have described.

Take a look at the bidding activity on the item and then scroll to the bottom of the page for any retracted/cancelled bids.
