How long to get a PayPal credit

After purchasing a book with a $50 eBay credit, it never arrived. 

I contacted eBay after a refund was issued and it went back to eBay, to ask them if I could get another $50 purchase voucher to reuse. 

They said they couldn't do this but to go ahead and purchase something to the value of $50 or more, and they would issue me with a PayPal credit within 7-12 business days. 

This was on the 24th of November. It's now the 3rd of January and I've just gotten of a chat with yet another CS person, who told me yet again (this is the 3rd time I've been told) to "give it another week"...

This is a joke. 

Anyone else had to wait for a credit and how long did you wait?

Yes, I had a similar thing happen last year.

I bought some items on the the promise of a voucher being issued the following month for use during that month.

Long story short, the voucher never arrived and when I rang ebay I was told to buy items of more than the voucher value and it would be creditted to my paypal account when I gave them the details.

I did this and received an acknowledgement from the very nice CS gentleman promising the credit within a few days.

A month later I was still waiting so contacted him again.

At the end of the saga it was 3 months from the time I should have had the voucher to the time it was finally credited to my paypal account.

Just be patient but keep onto them.  If you are told 15 days and you have not got it, on day 16 email the CS person you have been dealing with and tell them.  Just keep it up and you will eventually get it.

Well it's been 2 months and still no sign of it. I keep chatting to them and being told to wait another week. Then chat again and told the same thing.
I will never do this again. What a headache.

Also every time I try to email them back I get a reply saying they no longer use this email or something so I have to start all over again with a new CS. It is really frustrating
