The payment was for a re payment for an order that was refunded due to non delivery, but the order was delivered after a long wait so I need to send the seller the payment for item.
Mind you the same thing happened a while ago and I tried sending the payment to the seller via their email but for some reason after around 2 weeks they didn't accept the payment so I ended up cancelling it. I told them I was sending it so why it wasn't accepted I don't know. It was almost like they didn't know the money was sitting their for them to be collected.
I've done this a few times in the last couple of years.
First I notify the seller through eBay messages that the item has arrived and I tell them I will be forwarding the repayment.
(If you like, before you pay, ask for acknowledgement of your message and confirmation that their PayPal email.address hasn't changed).
Then I go into PayPal, look for the original purchase / refund for all the info and make the payment.
The last time this happened I was not impressed that the seller didn't get back to me that she had received my original message or the payment, so I messaged her again to find out if she had. I finally got a reply that she had received it.

Why cant you just make the payment via the normal method on Ebay. I'm confused

If it's an off-eBay transaction, eBay certainly has no business facilitating the transaction.
If the seller is selling through eBay, you don't need their email. If they're not, and you are contacting them through eBay, I suspect Paypal won't be of use either.
Ps: It is a Public holiday in NSW and Qld on Monday.

It's for a re payment for an order not just a straightforward purchase.
I tried to call PayPal yesterday a few times but couldn't get through.
It's an Ebay purchase.
I messaged seller for their email but they are closed weekends.
I remember a while ago you could get sellers email through Ebay advanced search but no longer, it's a nuisance.
look in your paypal history for the 1st payment. and grab from there.

Or other way to do is LOOK for the transaction in ebay and archive it . Then go the archive section on ebay and find the transaction that will normally show the user name and email address

The email address the seller uses for Paypal payments may not necessarily be the same one they use for communicating with buyers.
Since michelle is actually going through a legitimate eBay purchase then there's no reason she can't send the seller her email address - so long as she has committed to buy the item. If not, both the buyer and the seller could face a 7 day ban on messaging anyone on eBay.

ebay Messages will NOT allow email address in them.
