No. Why should you ??  Open a item not as desribed Dispute.  Out of Interest, is it from O / S ( China )

If you open a Paypal dispute then you will have to pay the full cost of trackable return postage which is going to be more than $5.50 so up to you, personally I would go witht he cheaper option of paying $5.50 if you are sure a replacewment part will fix whatever it is.

I don;t think I should pay anything more.

A faulty charger from China???

Don't even contemplate a replacement or you might find yourself with more problems than a wobbly plug and overheating.

If it's a charger from China check with Dept of Fair Trading because some chargers were banned recently after the death of a lady using one.  Apparently she was listening to mp3's via headphones on her iPhone and fell asleep, never to wake again!  Really horrible!

This was well documented in the media and also on the DFT site.

I bought an item recently (not a charger) from an Aussie seller, it was faulty and when I notified her she admitted to 'not checking' before listing on eBay.  I had to pay postage costs for return then she left it a few days, but I had been tracking the parcel so knew it had been delivered, then asked for the refund to be processed.  Reluctantly the refund was processed 'but' by electronic cheque which took another 5 days to clear so I was left waiting for my money.  It was 2.5 weeks in total from when I paid 'immediately' after the auction finished until I finally got my money back and of course, I was out of pocket for the return postage.

Personally, I feel if an item is clearly faulty, then return postage should not be the buyer's cost...why should they be out of pocket when  they bought an item in good faith?

No, I also recently bought a new moblie and the charger they sent with it was faulty it wouldn't work. I messaged them also sending pics of the charger plugged in, turned on and my phone display was missing the charging symbol. They asked me to pay extra postage I said no I won't, instead I am going to lodge a dispute with paypal as you said in your description that the phone came with a new working charger. And you have provided me with a dud charger. They replied and said ok we will send another one, however I did offer to send the faulty one back out of my own pocket only to prove the point that the charger was a dud. They didn't want it back so I ended up throwing it out and getting a new charger that worked and everyone was very happy. I guess I was lucky. Good Luck!!!
