I don't like this new thing where you have to rate the product when you give feedback

Recently, when I have gone to give feedback on buying a product, I have noticed that there is now a line that asks you to give feedback on the actual product. The items that this has appeared on are movie DVDs. Now, eBay encourages buyers to leave feedback as soon as possible after receiving an item. However, often I may not get to watch the DVD for several weeks (or longer). So, I have no idea what I think about the product, but you can't give feedback without giving a rating for the product. (eBay won't accept feedback without a product rating.) I feel that this is dishonest. Can't we just go back to the old system where you can give feedback without giving a product rating?

You would have to ask eBay

I guess they might figure so few buyers can be bothered leaving feedback, they won't change back

But at least this way, may also there won't be as many buyers waiting months to check what they have bought, find it faulty and then demanding the time frame for the MBG is not long enough

That is a bit annoying. It should really be optional.

I actually like the idea of feedback on a product as well although I'd prefer buyers had a choice on exactly what parts of feedback they wanted to give.

But ebay has a mind of its own.

They may change it eventually, they are always tinkering.
