I have been notified that I have an unpaid item case opened against me.

Hi there,

I have been notified that a seller has opened an unpaid case against me.  I won one item and am still bidding on a second from the seller.  I contacted the seller a soon as I won the first item and asked if it was ok to wait for the second item to finish.  She agreed that this was ok to pay together and she would combine postage if I won the second auction.  Then a few days later I get notification of the unpaid case.  When I contacted the seller she said she had not initiated this but it happens automatically saying that she controls what feedback comes to me and it won't be recorded on my account.  I believe this is incorrect.  She says she doesn't now hot to fix this and I can try if I now how  !!

Anyone know hat I can do??

Many thanks,

Anne

why do you believe it is incorrect?

A seller needs to pyiscally leave actual feedback, and your seller may very well have her settings to 'automatically report' after a set period. She would still have to actually write any feedback comments, however. She would only need to adjust her settings, but I don't know if she can do so for an item which is already sold

If you don't trust her, it is up to you if you proceed with buying two items from her......................

The seller probably has her account settings to open unpaid item disputes automatically.

The obvious way to "fix" it is to pay for your item but it is not practical if you are still bidding.

If the seller closes the dispute now she cannot reopen it if you end up not paying.

How long before the auction for the second item ends?  The seller cannot close the dispute for 4 days so if the item ends within that time just bid and pay immediately for both items if you win.   That will close the dispute with no ramifications.

The seller should have exempted you from the automatic dispute process if they were going to let you wait until another item finishes. If the second item finishes in less than 4 days after the dispute was opened then the seller should still be able to issue a revised invoice and you can make payment.

I have never been in this situation with an automatic dispute opened in error so have no idea if it is automatically closed after the 4 days or if the seller can extend that period.

If all else fails you will just have to pay for the first item and then hope the seller will still give you a discount on the second item.

maybe you should pay for the item, then contact the seller and ask if you win the next item would they do a reduced shipping for the 2 items posted together? easily sorted on the second invoice. i think you should have contacted the seller before you bought the first item letting them know you were intending on trying to win 2 items and you wanted to combine postage. some sellers have a limit on how long between end of auctions, they want items paid for, packed and posted ASAP.

plus the seller can add your ID to a list of buyers to not be sent the automated payment reminder before its due to be sent, your seller may not have known that.

David, I suggest you read the OP and check the date as well.

The OP was given the OK by the seller to wait for the second item but then opened the UPI dispute anyway....8 days ago.

The dispute will be well and truly closed by now and the auction probably ended as well.
