The spamming is going to my private email address. I've only ever bought from them on eBay. I've just received an email saying it was promotional and that they sold hundreds of items by doing this. They have an unsubscribe button but I have never visited their website and definitely have never subscribed to them. I'm not going to click on a button labeled "unsubscribe" when I don't know them. I could be giving them access to my computer for all I know.
Because I've only ever bought one item off them through eBay, they must be keeping customer details. But my private email address???
Contact them directly and ask to be removed from their mailing list. If you continue to receive the spam, report them: http://www.acma.gov.au/theACMA/spam-complaint-form-email

A seller is given your email address and of course yourr name and address, also unless you opt out your phone number will be given to them as well when you make a purchase..

I get the promo emails all the time. Just moved one today to my blocked list that sent 5 in a row. If it happens in future, simply tick the spamming email, click ''Sweep'', then click ''Delete all from Inbox and block future emails''. Or if you think it is phishing scam, click ''Junk'' and then click phishing scam.
It saves me time and effort and is the easiest way to go about it. If I had to make a report on every spammng email, I would not have time to do anything else.

if you have not yet left feedback you could leave a neutral saying the seller keeps sending me unwanted spam emails, but it might be against the feedback rules *shrug*

I don't have a sweep option in either of my browsers.

If you refuse to click on Unsubscribe then of course you are going to keep getting emails.
Any business that sends out promotional material has to provide an Unsubscribe function or phone number....there is nothing suspicious about it.

The sweep function has nothing to do with a browser. For instance, Internet Explorer, Google, Firefox are all browsers. ASAIK they do not have a sweep option.
The sweep option is in your email i.e. Hotmail, Gmail etc. If you do not have the fuctions mentioned, I suggest that you change your email provider.

It is Gmail and I won't be changing it. Certainly not to Outlook Express. Besides very little spam gets through the filters.

Okay, since you choose to use an email provider that does not have the sweep option and can't even spell ''source'' (Qoute from Gmail: This email is marked as important according to our secret sauce), you only have the options ''Report spam'', ''Move to spam'' or ''Filter emails''.
Ps. wonder what is in the ''secret sauce''. lol
