you can't have that much longer to wait until the 7 days are up.
This gives you time to think about the feedback that you want to leave, make full use of that 80 characters that you get and word it in such a way that it cannot be removed.
Maybe a bit of time to work something up on Word, run a spell check etc....
time to make your feedback as effective as possible.

maybe point out to PayPal that it is cost inefficient to return the shoes.....

OMG Belinda I completely understand. I cant count the number of times this has happened to me too. It is so disappointing. It happens with shoes all the time. I also cant fathom how anything that has been worn once can be described as new with tags or nwot but it seems ebay allows enormous poetic license with these listings.
I hope you get your money back.

If it is the Sketchers that state Worn Once in the title then you should have looked at the picture of the bottom of the shoes....worn far more than once by the looks of it. And a glance at her feedback would have sent me running the other way very fast.
Why blame ebay...you have been around long enough to know that they are not to blame for how sellers list things.

*looks impressed*
how'd you work that out Lyn? When I had a peek, I just got private feedback!
You must have a higher clearance level than me!

How on earth did you get to peek in the end? I saw private feedback too.
Just going on what has been said (as I don't know how to see the actual ad), I agree with the buyer. It is plain wrong to list something as new in box or worn once, when they clearly are not.
I had a similar thing happen to me once. Shoes were nice enough from the top photo, and 'worn once" according to the ad, but when they arrived, I saw the soles were quite worn down, which is something that should have been mentioned in an ad or shown in a photo.
I take the point the buyer could make a paypal claim but the postage back might not be cost effective.
I would go in with negative feedback though, for sure. Factual feedback about the worn state of the shoes.

Hi belinda,
what a terrible thing to happen! And also so obvius from the pics.
There is a bit of responsibility that you also have to take for not questioning the appearance of the shoes as well as the exact condition before you bought them - not that that excuses the seller's misrepresentation and reluctance to help afterwards.
But with leaving a neg - you really have to be careful how to word it, not so much that Ebay doesn't remove it (that would be a cheap option), but to avoid being taken to court by the seller if the f/back is not to his liking!
Ebay now doesn't accept defamation forms, one has to go to court and get a court order.
To cover myself, I asked a law firm (recently I bought something and was tempted to leave a neg) - and the trouble with that is that anything derogatory is wieved as defaming someone publicly, not only that they get the court order to remove it , they get punitive damages and all court costs awarded as well - payable by the buyer!
They told me that court would take an average earnings per day of the seller, and award damages for each day that goes by with the neg present accordingly - and my seller was HUGE, definitely didn't want to take a chance! Not worth the worry, especially about something stupid like a neg that not many buyers would pay any mind to anyway.
In my case, item was perfect, seller was rude and arrogant - so I couldn't really leave f/back like that, even Ebay would have most likely removed it.
If I was you, I would claim through PP if you paid that way, forget about the f/back - and shop with them again.
Best of luck, but don't be put of Ebay - not every seller is like that, thankfully.
