The current short feedback period allows only for dispach and delivery times. I have had problems with several items and have left positive feedback on delivery time but wish I could leave true feedback on the items and more importatly the response from the sellers if u have a problem. If they honor the warranty offered or if they even get back to u when u have an issue

A buyer has 60 days to leave feedback so unless you are purchasing a lot from overseas that usually leaves at least 45 days for feedback to be left after you have received your item.

how long would you suggest?

If you buy anything on ebay or any other auction site from a seller who is not an Australian registered business with an ABN you take the risk that there is nothing you can do after the ebay or Paypal time for opening a dispute is passed and I am afraid I would be far more concerned at losing money than not being able to leave feedback.
Very often the type of seller you are talking about who offers a toothless guarantee already has a lot of bad feedback but people continue to buy from them so I doubt if one more red dot would make an impression.
For anything else like delivery time or item description I would never leave it past 45 days and if I had to open a dispute within that time I would leave the neg there and then, not wait until 60 days have gone by which in my opinion is more than long enough.

Therein lies a/the problem. No extra time is given for O/S purchases.
