What is with all the international sellers posing as Australian locals? I purposely set out to buy from Australia to support Australian sellers and after buying, I find out they are international sellers that take ages to post from their apparent local location. Clearly the item is being shipped internationally and the money is going overseas. How do we filter out international sellers? It it so bad lately that after years of only being with eBay, I made an Amazon account and bought my first item. This has to stop or I'll be ditching eBay altogether.
Is anyone else having this issue?

always check the seller's feedback to see what country they are registered in....

It will happen to everyone who does not check a seller's feedback before they buy
It tells you right there where the seller is registered
It tells you right there if the seller lies about where items are sent from
And even without looking at that, every listing shows the estimated delivery date, so you know before you bid/buy how long it will be
It will not stop because eBay allow the item location to be anywhere
Buyers can choose to check who they are buying from/supporting though
You say you purposely set out to buy from Australia and yet your have chosen many dodgy overseas sellers to support

I filter item location to be local and didn't know where to find the seller's location as it only comes up on my order details AFTER I buy it. It should come up on the product listing and now that I know where to find that information, there should be a filter for local sellers only because there is no way in hell that I will sit there going into each seller's about page each time I buy something. If I want international sellers, I will just go to Amazon as they are better than eBay. The only reason why I stayed with eBay over the years and never signed up with Amazon, was because I didn't want to buy from international sellers and eBay now makes it difficult to filter out international drop shippers. Or perhaps it was always that way but I've never encountered them before. I am both a buyer and a seller here and eBay has just become more and more **bleep**py through the years.

Thanks, I didn't know how to find it until today. But no, I will no be doing that. I will just cut down or stop buying from eBay until they allow us to filter out international sellers. If I am on eBay Australia, then I should be able to see only local products and sellers if I want to otherwise it's just a waste of my time and I may as well hop in a car and go shopping.

Yes, the filter AUSTRALIA refers to items that a seller will ship here, as well as local....after that, you can filter by distance....cumbersome, I know....buyers have been complaining for YEARS!

For Years? And not done a thing about it? Okay, that means from now on, I will only buy something from eBay if I can't find it locally from elsewhere or if Amazon doesn't have it. Their fees are getting ridiculous as a seller too so I will probably look elsewhere to sell.

Their fee's havent changed for many years.
But please tell me where you think you can get better fee's? Oh you may mean the wild west of marketplace or Gumtree.

Lol as a seller, I make most of my money on MP with zero fees. I prefer it as it's better for the environment having someone pickup something. Due to zero fees, I can sell it cheaper so it goes faster. But you're right, it is the wild west and it's a PITA, but I do sell more there. I haven't tried gumtree but lots of people do well there too. If buyers here have to sift through all those big international sellers to find me on here, it's not easier selling here. Most of the time it's a waste of time as I end up removing them to sell on MP.

Ah yes, but by having pickup only, you have reduced your potential sales for some 20 million people to at a guess just a few thousand, I prefer the fee's and scope of 20 million
