I've got three sellers I'm currently trying to deal with and not getting any replies from any of them.
1) One from HK I'm requesting invoice total for three items.
2) One not far away but need their address to collect the item - a stationary cabinet.
3) one I'm trying to contact to offer a deal on an item that didn't get any bids.
OK, so 3 is under no obligation to reply. But I had made contact beforehand. The other two have no excuse!
It's just weird that it's all of my current dealings. [And no, my email preferences are fine and unchanged, and I still get other messages from eBay, just not from sellers!]
Thoughts anyone?

sometimes Friday blues can affect messages.

It's Australia Day and the start of a long weekend. Might have something to do with 2 and 3. Maybe No 1 doesn't combine.

Not everyone can reply straight away or the same day.

the seller of the cabinet has his phone number in the listing, have you phoned him yet?

And your HK seller does not appear to offer 'discount for combined postage' so you may as well make 3 individual payments and get 3 individual parcels from him

Considering the time difference as to when you messaged, they would have been home in bed starting the weekend. They should be back on board about 10.am Monday

These items finished Monday/Tuesday, plenty of time to have replied. Can't really blame Friday blues or weekend.
Yes I can call no. 2.
3, I've never had any issues from numerous Asian sellers, despite differing languages they've all responded promptly and made for smooth transactions in the past.
Still no replies though. Hence my original question............
Re. paying for 3 items separately. Which becomes three items posted. Which is a waste of resources and hurts Australia Post in a pretty big way. Our post is losing out badly because of international postal agreements from decades ago. As you can imagine many more parcels come in to the country than go out.
I think eBay really ought to encourage combined postage much more. I just don't like seeing such waste and inefficiency.

Well with the flooding and storm damage we've had in Qld, I've been without power, phone and internet for several days. Finally got power last night. Strangely I've got internet but no landline yet??
Also, from what I've heard, eBay has had some issues with logging in etc over the last three days now. Maybe the waning messaging system was a precursor to these problems?....
Got hold of the Brisbane stationary cabinet seller, all good.
As for eBay "policy", once an item closes/ends, eBay has no jurisdiction. Of course they won't facilitate a transaction either as to be expected. But they can't control what people do or don't do outside of an items listing period. So there is no harm in making an approach.
FWIW, the seller has re-listed it in combination with other parts. A decent deal if you need it all, unfortunately I don't need the other parts and at $1k each it becomes too pricey for me.
I still haven't heard from the HK seller. If he won't combine that's fine. But I'm now very reluctant to send money to anyone who doesn't at least attempt to communicate.

You know there's more risk involved with a non ebay transaction don't you ? Only pay via Paypal otherwise you can easily be ripped off.
