No, if you change your Feedback to private you cannot sell anything until you make it public. Last week eBay changed the amount of info that is displayed in feedback. If you logout and check your own feedback you'll see that item descriptions and links are no longer shown.
If you want to keep your buying and selling feedback separate you can start another ID and use one for buying and one for selling.
