Is there a way to contact "unresponsive" seller?

I found an hand-made item where I was very much intrigued with and thus tried to ask some questions via ebay messaging regarding to the item before making the purchase. However, the seller was unresponsive for over a week which I've sent another one asking if his busy or not, though further two weeks have past with no answer from the seller.

I'm not sure if the seller is intentinally avoiding my messages or not but I've seen him selling other items within those periods which I found it too hard to believe that he actually missed two of my messages. More so, he even mentioned in the description "If you have any questions please feel free to ask" as there are options I could add/remove for this specific item.

There are no alternative for this item as it's not factory-made and I just can't give up on this item because the price and the quality of the item is just too good to miss when compared to other similar items. Is there a way to get in touch with this seller?

Have you tried to do a google search for his items or store name if he has one? Maybe he uses some other sites to also sell or has website? Sometimes you can find handmade businesses on Facebook too so maybe give that a go if you can see a name?
Just a few thoughts, I don't think unless you purchase the item that you can access any other contact details beyond the ebay system, I may be wrong if so I'm sure someone will correct me!

Hi there,

was reading your post and can relate to the way you must be feeling... for I too have sent messages to sellers about their listings and while most people do reply, some never reply at all. During the past 6 years that I have been buying things from Ebay, I have decided that if the seller does not reply after the 2nd or 3rd message sent.... then I will not buy anything from them.

Every time that we send a message to someone on Ebay through messages, that person receives our message both on their Ebay account aswell as on their personal email account. Unless something has happened to them or their email accounts which can explain why they are not replying to your messages... then the seller does not wish to reply.... therefore I would suggest that you look for a similar item with a different seller... or if you would like to be a little bit more patient... just wait a bit and see if the seller eventually replies.

Wishing you a happy outcome

with kind regards

from Stella 🙂

I would be asking myself what sort of question did you ask?

If the seller is still active on ebay, listing other things etc, then it is unlikely they will have missed your messages, possible but unlikely.

So either they are incompetent, disorganised or else they want to avoid your particular questions.

If it was a question about authenticity or the condition of the item, I would be assuming the answers could very well be ones you would not like. I would not buy from them, myself, avoid the risk.

I've had exactly the same issue recently.  Two messages sent - no replies.  If the number of watchers listed is correct I seemed to have been the only person interested in the item.  Ah well.  Scratch that listing.  I've moved on and bought elsewhere.
