Is this legit???

Hello,

I am very confused.

I purchased an item, that I have now been told by the seller is not in stock.......I can get a refund or wait 1 month for the item.  I chose to get a refund (Paypal).

The seller is now asking for personal details as they cannot trace the Paypal transaction by my ebay user id.  Does this sound correct???  sounds a bit dodgy to me, what should I do?

Thanks

They should find it immediately with a trans number....no excuses....

Don't give out personal info....after all, that IS why we use paypal...:-)

Thanks for the advice everyone.  I have given the Paypal transaction #, date paid and amount to the seller.  As yet, no reply!!!!

When did you give them the PP transaction #?  If you did that in the past few days, it was weekend; if they are a business, they do not work on weekend.

If you do not get your refund today, start item not received dispute, they can refund through that.

This seller is not very bright; if they do refund into someone's bank, the person can still claim on PP and get second refund  :_|

That's totally irrelevant. Transactions with Paypal, including refunds or part thereof, can all be actioned 24/7. If for some reason you wish to physically speak with a Paypal rep, then you need to call during their business hours, which are 0600-2200 from Monday to Saturday inclusive.

Why would anybody need to speak to PP representative?  It is a simple matter of getting the money back, which is done by simply opening PP dispute.

As Lily is saying she has not heard back from the seller, of-course it is relevant that people may not be working Sunday.

My apologies; I misread your post and initially thought that you were talking about Paypal not working on weekends, but I now realise that you actually meant the seller. Sorry about that.

However, I partially apportion blame upon the fact that it's Monday morning. :_|:^O

Actually, this isn't right....

If they also get hold of a lot of your details they can get a lot of things at your expense... they can even get credit cards linked to your account, change your address and take a lot of money off you.

You should never give out your details.

I have said that many a time and have given out my bank details many tiems on the boards (and in every listing I post on ebay) and did eventually receive a malicious deposit, it was for just over thirty bucks and I never did discover who made the generous donation :^O

freightcar2009 with only your name, bsb and account number what can anyone do except deposit money into your account? To do anything else they need something like your PIN number or bank log in details.
