Is this too long to wait for item from China

Bought an item from China on the 2nd of August and was shipped on the 6th.  Still have not received it.  It's a fairly large box, an action figurine so nothing that would be under customs suspicion.

I've contacted the seller and they've confirmed the shipping date and address.  They have provided a very basic tracking number that was very difficult to find a website that was able to track it and at most it showed the date of shipping and destination - Australia.

The description says 14-28 business days and its getting to that, and the most basic airmail service was used but honestly have never had an item come this late before, even from China.

Already went to my local post office in case it was there but nadda.  Do you think this is too long a wait?  I'll wait till next Friday in the hopes it turns up.

No, not too long. Basic postal services from China can take up to 6 weeks, especially larger items.  It also depends where in China it is coming from.

Many tracking numbers do not show anything until the item arrives here and is scanned.

Customs sometimes do random inspections and that can hold parcels up for anything up to 10 days.

Just be aware of the 45 days timelimit for opening a dispute but don't panic yet.

wait 40 days[45days if the cut off time] and if it is not here, open a PayPal dispute.... you then have 20 days, so best to go with say 18 days,... before you escalate to a claim... to be on the safe side with days.... 40+18 should be well and truely enough time to arrive, if it hasnt, after you escalate, PayPal will arrange yr refund if the tracking # is insufficient proof.

Thanks, I'll leave it as long as possible before I put in a dispute, but hopefully it won't get to that.  I've kept in contact with the seller and they've been cordial and I certainly don't want them to be out of pocket so I hope for both our sakes it turns up soon.

I always got everything from China within 4 weeks, but I don't think it ever took less than 2 weeks. Don't wait longer than 45 days though...

It appears that goods coming from Asia are taking longer at the moment.  I'm waiting on a purchase from Hong Kong which was shipped on 6th August - doesn't usually take this long.  However, on contacting the seller she offered to issue a refund, and I accepted her offer.  If the items do arrive, I have assured her I will repay:)

I was looking for this type of thread so that I didn't have to start one of my own.

A few friends and I have been talking and we all agree that goods coming from Asia are taking much longer than they used to to arrive.

Purchases that used to take an average of 2 weeks or so to arrive after payment are now taking 4 weeks and more.

Not sure what the cause is but it's making purchases through EBay far less attractive.

We are now starting to source many items we need from local stores.

We may have to pay more but it's often worth it to avoid so many lengthy unexplained delays.

Hello.It is a little long,but the tracking number could not be tracked in AU since the AU website does not reflesh the information immediately.The website message sometimes only appears the shipping date and renew as it arrived.You might try to get contact with your local postage.

Of course,keep contact with seller.

No tchi, start a dispute NOW. Slow postage fom asia should not be your problem.

Item purchased 2nd Aug, it is now 26th Sept, bit late to be opening a dispute now?

Also, China is China, Hong Kong is Hong Kong.

Mail from China is generally Slower than mail from Hong Kong.
