Item NOT showing in purchase history.

I have purchased an item through ebay using  Paypal .  The money has gone from my account. Paypal have all the details but the item does NOT show in my purchase history, so I have no way of contacting the seller and the Paypal details do not match with a seller when entered in searches through ebay. What's going on ?

Is Ebay allowing non-genuine sellers to hack into the system ? There is no way of contacting ebay as an entity in itself to help solve the problem. This is NOT a satisfactory way of conducting an online business.

So we just lose our money.... is that the way it goes?

No, nobody is 'hacking the system'

What happened when you tried to contact eBay via Live Help (and was it during their operating hours when you tried?

How long ago did you buy the item?

I assume it was not too recently if you have the need to contact the seller already so have you changed the drop down menu in your purchase history to cover when you bought it?

What was the estimated delivery date?

Has the item not arrived, was it not as described or was it faulty ?

Do you have an order confirmation from eBay?

Otherwise, you should be able to find the seller again through normal search - if it was an one-off item it'll still show up in a completed listings search.

There's a few ways you can locate the seller again with the details of the item purchased, so try that way if you need to confirm whether they have a record of your order and have posted it (or will be), before anything else.

Your post is a bit scant on details.

I think if it's more than 90 days old, it disappears from your purchase history (others will clarify)

Are you saying that you purchased that long ago and it hasn't turned up?

If so, you can open a claim in Paypal for Not Received, as you have 180 days.

It will show for 60 days, then the drop-down menu will show up to 2 years back.

Your best chance of getting a refund is to provide full details of the transaction.

You could also read the eBay Moneyback Guarantee on the listing.
