i rekon you should buy from this other seller, sounds like a good idea. after all lightning never strikes twice in the same place right?
i'd buy double the amount you were buying from that other unreliable seller. i mean this stuff is hard to get, dont want to run out and not be able to get more.
yes, great idea. go for it.

Thrre is another seller with the same item 4 sale. I wonder if its worth the risk to buy it from them. I asked seller about purchasing it and they said it should be fine to be shipped to Australia. Mind you its a little bit expensive than the other item.

I have at present an item being held at Global Shipping Centrein UK as it is a prohibited substance((anti-bacterial powder). Will they send it back to seller possibly and am I entitled to refund in this instance?michelle, I looked at the Australian Customs website and searched their lists of prohibited products and could not find anti-bacterials on any of their banned/prohibited lists.
Based solely on the information you provided in the Opening Post, I can only assume that it is the UK GSP that has deemed the product as restricted for sending to Australia.
I looked at the eBay pages for the GSP UK and the only thing I can see is that it may be in a restricted category "PET SUPPLIES > Other " or classed as a prohibited item "medical materials". However, when a seller lists an item in the UK these items do not allow the GSP to be an option in the listing as they are restricted or prohibited from the program.
Which leaves me to wonder if we are getting the full story from you michelle?
Is there anything you are not telling us about this purchase or any emails you received from eBay or GSP UK?
How did you find out the item is being held by GSP UK?
Can you copy and paste the text from any message/email you received telling you the item is prohibited?
Without full disclosure you will continue to receive terse replies on this thread. Tell us everything you know about this transaction and we will be able to give better help and advice. Can you tell us the title of the item that is being held by GSP UK?
The seller stated in their listing that they only ship to mainland UK, but will post to the islands if the buyer contacts them first. Therefore, my guess is, after she has convinced them to ship to Australia, the GSP cost has been added to the invoice after the sale. I would assume that would be how it bypass listing restrictions.
Who knows? We'll never get the full story because she only ever likes to tell parts of the story. The dramatic parts hoping that people will feel sorry for her. As you said, if she gave the FULL story and all relevant information, most people would be more obliging with helping her, myself included. As it stands, most people don't want to help someone that is just attention seeking, rather than actually wanting help.

Seriously Michelle, given the cost of buying from the other seller, which is going to cost a fair bit more, plus you run the risk of it being seized by customs, it would be far cheaper and far quicker to go to your local produce store (animal feed store) or vet and get a bottle of Terramycin powder. It will treat more infections than what this other stuff will, plus, it will only cost you what you will pay in postage alone from England, for 7 times as much.
I understand you have to be careful what you use on rats, mice and rabbits, but this stuff is safe to use on ALL animals. It is even safe to use on natives, who are intolerant to pretty much everything. This stuff is sold for eye infections in pigs, but as I said, it's safe for all animals and can be used on the skin and eyes. It is even safe to use on you if you need it!
I am unsure why you want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a product, when you can get one that is far better, for less cost, from here. There is nothing special about that item. I know it looks cute because of the fluffies on the label, but are you buying for the label or the product.
I have used various products on animals for over 40 years and the Terramycin is far superior to any of them.

The shipping is GSP (Pitney Bowes). I cant cut and paste anything but can do it at the library for anyones further perusal if they like. That will be tomorrow possibly. The item is #171808228116. I made 2 payments 1 to seller 1 to GSP for shipping. The refund has been done as I said without me even asking for one. Which is strange I know. I got an email from Ebay explaining this.
michelle, thanks for coming back and providing more information.
