Hi all, purchased a small item from a seller, on the promise that the item was located in Sydney. It was paid for on the 16th Dec, and we are in NSW, but the item is still at large. On checking, the seller is registered in China, so why in the world are they allowed to simply be fraudulent regarding an item location. We required this item before the Xmas break, so had to make other plans. I see the complaints about this practice all the time, yet ebay allow these sellers to lie.

It's reportable now, though whether eBay will act on it is another thing altogether going by their almost total inaction on scammers.

So true. If and when you get the item, make sure you leave feedback stating that the seller also lied about it's location. That may make them start to think twice about BS ing the Buyer.

It doesn't have to be China. I bought a small heavy item, believing the listing that it was located in my town, thinking I would pick it up. It turned out that, though the seller is located in my town, all her items are located about 100 km away, so I ended up paying postage anyway on what was meant to be an inexpensive, fun purchase. This is one seller I won't be going back to.

I had this happen a few weeks ago. Check their handling time. My seller had 20 days(I didn't check). They ordered each item from China 1 or 2 at a time and sent to 1 local agent to distribute. Cost twice as much as direct from China and took a week longer!

Just an update, I contacted the seller who assured me that they have an Aust warehouse, but due to my concern and their comittment to customer satisfaction, they offered me a full refund just to show it. I bet the next thing will be a softly softly request re positive feedback. All this was obviously written by someone with a limited grasp of english. I checked their postage times and it was 3 weeks. From Sydney, no way. I will have the refund on this one thanks.

TWO YEARS?
That's how old this thread is. I doubt the few people who posted in 2014 still care. Or would even return to the boards.
