Item returned to seller by Aus Post

I purchased a CD from a seller locally and got a message from them saying that Aus Post had sent the item back to them. He didn't say why, he said he would repost it. Why would Aus post send it back, this has never happened before. There was no tracking number.

Item returned to seller by Aus Post

Here's another reason:

I once sent a small parcel to a friend interstate.

On one side of the parcel it said TO: - my friend's name and address.

On the other side (in smaller letters) it said FROM: my details.

Australia Post sent the parcel to me.  I'm not kidding.

I can only assume it was one of those automatic sorter errors.

1) did A.P. 'card' you and you didn't pick it up?

2) address label may have been damaged/fallen off

3) address may have gotten wet & run

lots of reasons

I just received message from seller saying he just posted it and there's no tracking number as it was sent as a letter.

As long as your address is on it, it should reach you okay, tracking or no tracking.

Don't know why it didn't the first time, maybe your address details were damaged & unreadable so it was returned to sender.

But the article was not lost, was it!

It did get back to the seller.

And it will most likely get through to you with no problems within the next few days.

I had this happen to me also. Apparently some people do not understand "TO" and "FROM"

Yes,  at one stage it was happening regularly with my  sale items. I spoke to the person in the local post office. By pointing to myself and 'from' on the package I got the concept of  'From' across the language divide.  It hasn't happened since.

It probably hasn't happened to Michelle since 2019, either, or she would have updated us.
