I noticed something interesting just now.
I saw an item that was supposedly located in Darwin, Australia.
The seller had the exact same item in another listing, except that was located in HK.
The Australian listing was 2.5x the price of the HK one but had a suspiciously long shipping time (6-9 days in Australia). In my experience, thats roughly the time it takes to ship from HK to AUS, not within Australia.
Several other HK based sellers were doing the exact same thing with the exact same descriptions (We ONLY ship within Australia, etc).
I'm thinking that non-AUS sellers are faking item locations and shipping from HK anyway to get a bigger profit margin, knowing that buyers are likely to pay more for items located in Australia....

The buyers are, in effect, importers, anyway. Not strictly purchasers.
Even if they could I doubt they've go chasing after them for a $2 pair of high quality earrings.

Check with Ebay. Their site clearly states that Australian Consumer Law applies to sellers.

Yes, if they are a business seller, as previously stated private sellers are not covered by the ACL...............sheesh

The transactions I am referring to were from businesses as most in Asia are...........
If you want to trade on eBay then follow the law. Or go elsewhere. Sellers like the money and they like selling goods, they sometimes dont like to refund or admit if they make mistakes. Not all but some. If eBay cases and Paypal refunds are available I'm in my rights to use them to get my money back, however much or little it is.

But eBay or Paypal refunds have nothing to do with the ACL, who have no jurisdiction over foriegn sellers anyway - as also previously explained to you.
Be aware that excessive claims for INR or SNAD through eBay or Paypal may flag your account - that is clearly stated in their policies should you care to look at them.

Look I dont have time to post all day to you serial posters. Some of us have lives outside of eBay. If people have time to post 7000 times then get a life springs to mind.
But for the final time the ACL covers overseas sellers if they are a business, not if they are an individual. Whether you are located in Sydney or Tinbucktoo. Refunds and returns are EXACTLY what are covered by the ACL. End of Story. Do some research on google people!

I've been on the boards for close to 8 years, after originally coming here for help I, along with many more of your so-called Serial Posters (a term which you are using in an offensive manner BTW), take time to help others with their problems here.
If you don't like those members being here to help out, then don't bother coming here. I for one will continue to help where I can, when I have some free time.

So I am a serial poster by your definition.....if you don't want help from us, don't come here for help.
As for your second paragraph...if you are happy believing that furphy then go right ahead and report your problems with overseas sellers to Australian authorities. Maybe you will believe the posters here when you receive no help at all.
Most of us dont need to do a google search for the information...we have found it out first hand by reading the various sites before reporting anything.
