Just want to vent....

..... I won an item in Victoria on Saturday 2nd March. (I am NSW)
Seller emailed me to request payment on Monday 4th March. (at that stage, i hadnt realised i had won it as I hadnt been on the internet over the weekend, and i had placed one bid on this item a few days before)
a tad suprised by the seller demands, but obliged and paid immediately via paypal on 4th March.

On Sunday, the 10th March, I noticed the item in my *purchased* history is still unmarked as posted... so i emailed seller and asked if they could tell me when they posted it as it wasnt marked as such. (i know that not everybody marks items as posted thropugh the ebay system, so I just wanted to double check)

She replies on the same day with appologies that she had her parents staying over, and she FORGOT to post my item!... then she says that Monday (yesterday) is a P/H, so she will post Tuesday (today).

Im like....   WTF!

Im really annoyed.
Im REALLY REALLY annoyed!
I opened an item not received case today. I know it will be posted, and i hope it will eventually arrive... but to simply *forget* to post, after 6 days of having my money, then im sorry, but case open it is!

(delivery handeling time-within 3 days of cleared payment)

Sorry.... just had to rant.

cheers...

Totally agree - you forgot to pay because you were not on the computer over the weekend, she forgot to send because she had her parents visiting, as you are no doubt aware there is life outside of eBay. I think a little lenience is definitely called for.

Agreed. I probably wouldn't be "REALLY REALLY ANNOYED" or "WTF!!!!" if a seller forgot to post but I would be a little surprised. Sometimes people do forget, so I'd just be thankful that they were going to post it at the next earliest time.

It's fair enough to open an INR dispute to cover yourself - just let the seller know the reason you're opening it.

Just want to vent....

This year a few sellers have taken their time to post items to me - up to around 3 weeks.

Surely none of you believe that's okay.....

Yes, a little patience will have everything work out alright.  Mark them down on DSRs but I wouldn't neg them. And I wouldn't open an INR dispute, perhaps because my brain is like a sieve sometimes and while I try my best these things forgetting things can unfortunately happen!  -To all of us, no?

By the way, I don't think it was unreasonable for the buyer to request payment, I guess it just comes down to the way they did it.  If they were rude I'd be certainly narky now, but if it was just a friendly request given you didn't communicate at all after winning the item that's understandable, especially if seller has been burnt by non payers before.

Hope whatever it is it arrives soon and you enjoy it!

We try to keep all stars at 4.9 or 5.0. But I know that we accidentally miss parcels once in a while for whatever reason. Fulfilling hundreds of orders a daily.

There are two types of customers. Those that get really really annoyed and try to make it a living hell for the seller.

And those that see it as such a small oversight and they don't mind at all; acknowledging that we are all humans who make mistakes.

At the worst, you've paid last week and the order should arrive late this week.

I mean- talk about first world problems?

Exactly and I would probably feel the same. It's really funny how attitude can play a big part in an otherwide identical scenario. As a seller, it really does pay (literally) to be friendly. Just basic customer service...

I fail to understand why you would open an INR dispute after only 7 or 8 days?:|?:|

I'm on Jane's side & don't believe she is being unreasonable in saying wtf.

Jane didn't forget to pay, she didn't realise she had won the item!

She won the item on Saturday evening and seller sent her an email asking for payment, which Jane obliged with on Monday morning. Don't you think that's a little impatient?

Then, after making a request for payment "forgets" to post the item. I think that's pretty rude.

I agree with Foxy and Patch and I wonder if it's such a quiet day on the boards that some members feel the need to offer excuses for the seller.
