Listing/policy violation?

Seller of car states; "Car to be sold outside of EBay, or buyer to pay the fees". To my knowledge this is against EBay policy. Am I wrong? Listing was reported a couple of days ago but it remains active.

Re: Listing/policy violation?

You're right, it's against policy.

A little silly really, the seller could just add $60 to the price. That's the fee in vehicles.

Maybe he thinks the fee is 9.9%, but even that is capped when selling other items.

Re: Listing/policy violation?

Yes, my thoughts exactly. I also would have thought them wanting to finalise the sale outside of EBay would have seen the listing removed as soon as it came to their attention, so I'm more than a little curious as to why it hasn't been.

Re: Listing/policy violation?

Maybe ebay have flagged it and wait  to see if they get proof in messages of fee evasion.

Even then it is difficult for ebay to prove the item was in fact sold rather than just taken off the market.

Re: Listing/policy violation?

Is it an ebay listing or a Classified advertisement.

Classifieds are done outside ebay....ebay is just the advertising medium and the potential buyer contacts the seller outside ebay.

Re: Listing/policy violation?

It's an EBay listing with 'buy it now' and 'make offer' options.
