I believe you can word your link/concern in a better and more understandable manner. How can you 'try to recharge a battery' when there was no battery to start with. What were you trying to recharge again?

If the item you bought was listed as including a battery and you received it without a battery, first contact the seller, and if the seller is not helpful you can open a case for "item not as described".

So you use the tools eBay provides every buyer when something is not as described
If the ad did in fact say battery was included
Mind you, since I am not sure exactly what you mean by 'opened it up' the protections you did have before doing so may have been voided if it was'nt meant to be 'opened up' in the manner you did

It would help if you gave us the item number.
