My open case was closed even though still negotiating with seller

Hello, I am pretty annoyed with the process of having an open case.  I have been in contact with the seller but the case has been closed by ebay considered there hadn't been any action.  I find this process very messy and unsatisfactory.  Problem is now I still don't have the item which was supposed to arrive today and am out of pocket with no redress.  Who do I contact in ebay to sort this type of problem out.  Very disappointed all round.  Any help greatly appreciated

more details needed. what was the case for, item not as described or not received? what was the reason for the case closing?

if the seller has marked it paid, or you paid with pay pal, it automaticly closes, and you should get your item.
