I have been with ebay since 2005, in that time I have never been scammed UNTIL NOW
Purchased 2 office chairs - ID member had no feedback and was new to ebay, gave him an opportunity to get feedback,
viewing now so did 10 other people.
No sign of any goods, he has not answered 5 emails I sent looking for goods - NO REPLY
I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED , BEWARE of New ebayers with no feedback ..
I believe other buyers have not left feedback yet, maybe they are still unaware the chairs are NOT coming
Hope this helps everyone BUYING on Ebay

@bakeandfry wrote:If you want to see if the email is a hoax, you can do two things...
1- ring ebay or get ebay to ring you to check
Or..
2- wait several days to see if money is returned to original funding sorce. (Ie: bank account)
You can follow this suggestion unless you consider it does not provide a solution.
Bake, refunds are never returned to bank accounts.....they remain in the paypal account.
It is only credit card or debit card funded payments where the refund goes back to the original account.

"Are you actually reading other experienced sellers replies? It doesn't seem so. If the seller refuses to accept Paypal just walk away, you don't have to pay by bank deposit. The seller can't remove their Paypal (or other safe method) option which is why it was there, and you should have used it and not accepted any excuses. Why are you keeping on about it, you made a mistake, learnt from it, and now you have to move on."
Yes i am reading other experienced sellers replies although some of their advise did not provide an answer about the contradictions in the system. Most readers think that i did not try to pay through paypal in order to be covered or communicate with seller for tracking details but not the case at all.
So to all the scammers particularly my one who has suddenly become a follower, my persitance paid off and got me my money back without spending inordinate ammounts of time with authorities, banks, acorn etc etc

"We didn't receive valid tracking information from the seller. We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase, and we're issuing you a refund for this case"
So to all who have been scammed persist rather than just accept, although well meaning advise from members do not all fully understand the peculiarities of this case. Maybe they paid up just to keep me quite. Whatever the case i have my refund and whenever a new situation comes up with pay by direct deposit learnt my lesson well. And i hope my new follower gets time to read this because i think you are being followed yourself and keep an eye on your rear.

You didn't happen to complete checkout with paypal and using your bank account to pay for it?

You just might have hit the nail on the head Bake.....I guess we all just accepted the OP's word that he paid by bank deposit. We have no way of checking these things.

Tried a couple of times to pay by paypal but it redirectedme to sellers direct deposit page instead. Checked with paypal no record of transaction. Seller manipulated paypal account to overide paypal payment process.
One thing i find unusual is payment has been forwarded although not received as yet from someone claiming to be from
eBay International AG
claims-aud@ebay.com
Sincerely,
PayPal
That from what i have found out is their international billing for all ebay sales.
So it cannot be confirmed wether paypal or ebay came up with the refund
the email received from ebay
"
Good news! eBay Customer Support has reviewed the case and made a final decision. We issued you a full refund of AU $605.60 on 24 Mar, 2017. A notification of this refund was sent to your eBay registered email address at
ebay@ebay.com.au"
appears legit although i have asked it to be checked out wether its a spoof email
so i cannot verify ebay or paypal as returning funds, i really dont think it was seller returning funds as it would have gone straight into my account. as from what i understand seems an interaction between paypal and ebay maybe as one poster described as "oiling the squeeky wheel"
will find out over the next few days

Bank transfer information

Hi all thought i would advise that email received was a spoof email so looks like the scammers are always on the prowl for game.
"
Thanks for forwarding the suspicious message you received. The email you reported did not come from PayPal or eBay. It was a fake, often called a "spoof" or "phishing" email. (That's "phishing," as in "fishing" for personal information.) Our security teams are working to disable any websites it links to.
so looks like i dont get my money back yet

It is very hard not to speculate on all sorts of possibilities when the results are so far removed from ebay/paypal's usual actions as to be unheard of. I have never heard of ebay or paypal reimbursing anyone for bank deposit payments EVER in all my years on the boards.

So those of us who asked questions were not so silly afterall.
Sorry you were disappointed but not surprised that it was fake.
