I am buying 2 items from an OS seller.
In the listings the seller says they will combine postage so I requested an invoice for my purchase as one item is very light.
The seller has a 100% rating with no issues....but I haven't heard from them at all. In the meantime eBay's reminder to pay came up, so I sent another invoice request. Still no word.
What happens now? The items were on special and the price was good. I still want to buy them and combining postage is definitely cost effective, but even if I pay both postage costs I'm a bit concerned, given the lack of response so far from the seller.
I've never come across this issue before.

Some eBayers only go on their computers 2-3 times a week.
The payment reminder is sent at 48 hours, give them a few more days to respond.
If you only selected request invoice at checkout, sellers sometimes miss seeing that in their sold list.
In that case send them a message saying you are waiting for a combined invoice to make payment.

Are they Chinese?
A lot haven't come back from their New Year celebrations yet

No, not Chinese. UK seller.

Are they an inexperienced seller? If so they are probably still recovering from the shock of seeing what the postage is going to cost, especially if adding the lighter item takes it up to the next price band.
If you are prepared to pay the full price for delivery on both then just pay for them separately, if you can use a friend or relative's address for one of them so they cannot send them both together while ignoring your request for combined postage.
For future reference unless they give a quote for combined items in the listing you should always message them before bidding asking for a quote, combined postage does not mean you will get a discount and even if you do it can be as little as a few cents (or pennies in this case)

The seller is very experienced.
There's no one I want to list as an alternate address for this purchase.
The seller's listings say they will always combine shipping. I'm not concerned how much a discount I might get (or not) I am simply concerned that for someone who says they will combine shipping, I've asked and it's odd I've had no reply at all....good or bad. And it's that lack of response that makes me hesitate paying for both items yet.

Yes, I did request an invoice at the checkout.
I will try sending another message separate from the checkout method, and see what happens. 🙂

Just a reminder [and I've seen it mentioned here before], when a seller states "combined postage", that doesn't necessarily mean "combined discount postage".
Combined postage without a discount doesn't need an amended invoice or further communication. And the seller would combine multiple purchases for the same buyer when they are dispatching the items - no need for further communication.

Sending another message through contact seller instead of request total paid off.
And in this case the seller combined - and discounted - postage as I'd hoped...and of course forwarded an invoice.
I have now paid for the items.
