O/S sellers posing as in Aus

I am having issues with a seller in Maylasia. The phone I bought was listed as in Aus with Aus seller. I had to return the phone as it was faulty and it was returned to an Aus forwarding address and all communications is through Maylasia.

This is loophole that should be closed

In my oppinion ebay is geared towards sellers with little active protection to buyers.

eg  When looking to purchase a phone I checked the box "new / unused ' yet many of the  listings were for used phones.

eg, items offered with a warranty, if you leave good feedback then after some months the item fails and you get left high and dry you have no ability to change your feedback to this important  matter.

There are so many scammers on ebay these days it is a dangerius place to purchase.

These are my thoughts through experence over many years of using ebay

You have to be a bit selective in what you purchase online. Electronics/electrical are some items I would never purchase online no matter how much cheaper they appear to be. Buy from a bricks and mortar store and you won't have any problems.

Re: O/S sellers posing as in Aus

I had a similar experienced with a mobile phone purchase. I too had left +'ve feedback that could not be changed a couple of weeks later when the 1 year warranty proved worthless. The seller will not correspond other than to say the phone was tested & worked fine when it was shipped. According to the manufacturer's repair centre in Australia the phone had been loaded with an illegal software crack to unlock it, which soon fried the main board. The quoted cost of repairs was more than the purchase price.

I agree that buyers should have the ability to change their feedback when they purchase a warranty that does not exist.

Buyers who use the feedback as a guide to the integrity of the seller are caught out by these large scale & well established outlets exploiting this policy loophole.

In my case, the seller has a 98.9% +'ve rating from over 18,000 scores. I know now how they get away with it, but I'm amazed at how they are allowed to continue operate for years while all avenues to warn other buyers are blocked.

The item number is 121310025710.

Dave, you can leave a reply to your positive feedback. Maybe put an update to the issue that fits into the box and that will warn other buyers if they see it.
