Hi
I bought a pair of shoes and the only postage option was Express Aust Post $15. I bought a 3kg one of these last week and it was approx $14
Anway I received the tracking number for my item and it was in fact sent standard post. Apparently express post satchels have gone up to $20. Can a seller just change to what postage they want? I wanted the express post as I would have received it today

the 3kg express cost $13.05 outside the express zone so they havent gone up to $20

Is the seller even in an Express Post zone?
A lot of sellers send by Express post because they believe (wrongly) that the tracking gives them paypal seller protection, even if they are not in the Express Post zone.

My sisters mother-in-law will only send parcels via express from Perth - Broome. She's been told many many times that she's wasting her money as it all goes by road and can take up to a week in most cases but she still pays and sends that way. ?:|
She even sent my brother-in-law a birthday cake once - black forrest it was! Even the dog turned her nose up at it after a week in the truck. :^O

so what did the actual postage and handling cost?
why dont you email the seller and ask; i recieved standard and paid for express postage. Request the balance sent through paypal or something?

How do you know the seller sent standard...

Mail couldve been delayed for a number of reasons, even if it is express.

You have absolutely no idea when you would have rec eived your parecel even if it was posted express and bith you and the seller were in an express area, they may not have posted it for 5 days and then it would still have taken at least a week or more.

The service used by the seller, be it express or standard, will show on the tracking page if the parcel has been scanned, so I presume it stated Parcel Post or similar rather than Express when the number was checked.
