Hi
I bought a pair of shoes and the only postage option was Express Aust Post $15. I bought a 3kg one of these last week and it was approx $14
Anway I received the tracking number for my item and it was in fact sent standard post. Apparently express post satchels have gone up to $20. Can a seller just change to what postage they want? I wanted the express post as I would have received it today

I am in Alice Springs & if I want the item a bit quick I ask for express as even though we are outside the "next day" area it does shorten the time for delivery.
I have had as fast as next day from Melbourne & 2 days from WA.
Once even the same day from Sydney but if the item gets into the big mail exchange outside Sydney it can be there for up to 10 days.
Adelaide for some odd reason can be slower than the eastern states.
South Eastern QLD is fairly stable at around 4 days.

contact the selle and ask what they are going to do about it
dont listen to some of the other rbayers as if you just leave a negative they sometimes will wait till you sell something and get you back
just talk to them it might have been an honest mistake
wich does happen
they might give you a postage refund if you are nice to them
if they are not nice
you can leave the feedback and put a paypal dispute in

You are right in saying 'don't listen to other ebayers' lol

I do hope that you ask before buying if the seller does not offer express and are prepared to pay the cost of platinum express as the ordinary satchels do not qualify for Paypal seller protection!

Not if you put them on your BBL...

Please explain how one accidentally sends something by regular post when express was requested and paid for?

Really? You have never made a mistake, missed reading something on an invoice? It can be easy to miss when buyers use the "message seller" section on the paypal payment form, especially if written in with other requests. I made this mistake once as well, it has made me almost paranoid about that feature, am so careful these days.

The ones I loathe are those sellers who only send Express but don't mention that they may not post it for ten days or more!
If I pay more for Express I do it for my benefit, not to give the seller time to be tragically disorganised and slack. That's not worth MY money.

No.. I always pay before I even get the invoice, and I don't sell

From what I read, the only option was Express post so it must have been in the listing, not requested via a PayPal or eBay message
