Part payment with Paypal and reminder COD

Can I part pay for something using Paypal (in other words a laybuy) and then pay the remainder COD? Is that possible with Ebay? The reason for this is that I want to use some cash in my Paypal account a week prior to picking up the item to show good faith, and then pay the seller the balance cash on pick up.

No, it is not possible to do part payments with PP.  Also you should not pay before you see the item.  Cash on pick up (not COD, which means cash on delivery and refers to AP  service) is the way to go.  There is no PP protection for pick up items; the moment you collect it and walk out there is no comeback.

If you want to show good faith, perhaps message the seller 1-2 days before picking up the item giving them confirmation that you will be there on that day and time.
