What did it say in the ad?

Did it say pick up was available or did it list post only?

You would think for a larger item in the same suburb, pick up would be logical but I guess it always pays to check first.

Not sure what boat only means. Do they mean shipping cost?

Or postage cost?

Makes me wonder if English is their first language as it is an odd way to phrase it.

It sounds like to me someone has misrepresented where their location is and the item is actually located in china or somewhere and shipping b y sea is the only postage available.

I think HBH is right.

Many chinese move here and sell as agents, products dispatched from China.

If that is so, isn't that a breach of ebay rules?

I know a buyer should always check first if pick up is available but all the same, it doesn't seem fair for an item to be listed as local if it isn't.

Yes. You could report the seller for it but is ebay really going to do anything?
