I've recently bought a couple of things that were supposed to be in Australia but it's pretty obvious that they are being shipped from overseas. I did a search for the items to make sure the seller was in Australia. Item location said it was Melbourne. This happens over and over so what is eBay doing about it?

So in effect, when they say the item is located in australia, they are telling a lie?

Unfortunately many Asian sellers lie, in particular Chinese sellers.
But some do have warehouse facilities in Aus.
I guess it's like everything, there are always the few that ruin it.
Also a good idea to look at feedback. Often there will be comments saying items came from China or H.K.
And they took 3-5 weeks to arrive.

I do usually look at FB for this reason. I just thought that having done an advanched search for Sellers located in Australia, the seller having said the item was in Australia and a delivery date a week away would have been enough.
I sometimes buy from Chinese sellers in China and I expect to wait for the items. I've never had a problem with them.
I've also bought from OS sellers with wharehouses here, not a problem.
It's just the ones telling lies that I have issues with.
It's wrong of eBay to let sellers misrepresent themselves like this.
A lot of my less experienced friends have stopped using eBay for this reason. It's not doing eBay any good to let this go on.
I wonder what they plan to do about it?
Thanks for your help.

As it's eBay and they getmoney from these sellers they probably wont do much, but?
They did bring in a policy where sellers can be defected if proven they use item location wrong in trying to get
around the GST.
Have you reported any that you have come across via the report function in the listing,(if it's a completed
listing you will have to click on see original listing for the report link to show).

I've been with eBay 15 years. Started out selling. I liked supporting them.
I will report from now on, made my mind up today when I said the items have not arrived, that I will be reporting the sellers. I needed the items in a hurry.
I don't like being stuffed around.

How far outside the estimated delivery date is it now?
