Possible scam artist?

Hi all,

Recently I bought a designer bag on auction (Tory Burch, they don't sell it here in Australia) and after investigating the seller and going through feedback and etc., I decided to bid on the bag and won. Sent a message to the seller asking for details of authenticity. Didn't get a reply within 4 days so I sent another message yesterday. Still haven't gotten a reply.

Also what's weird is that the package was shipped but there was no email telling me that the bag had been marked as posted as there always is whenever I have bought items from eBay. And when I wanted to check a tracking number, seeing that the bag had been shipped with US Priority Mail International which is supposed to have a tracking number, but a message pops up saying a tracking number is unavailable at the time. Shipping cost was expensive too. And the seller still hasn't replied to my latest message about a refund despite many reviews saying the seller is quite responsive.

So I went to investigate the seller again and found the person selling a few other Tory Burch bags on auction starting at US$0.99 when I had bought my bag for US$325 with starting bid at $299. So now I'm really questioning the authenticity of the bag I'd bought seeing as it had been relisted immediately after I'd bought it.

Sorry for the long post everyone. Thoughts on what I should do?

Any feedback is appreciated thanks!

Re: Possible scam artist?

well for a start they are quoting Global Shipping Program

so... you wont be able to track until  it leaves the on-shipper after being repacked and onforwarded by the GSP provider PitneyBowes.

this is a slow process as the seller has to send to Kentucky first...

however fact that seller's listed another immediately prob means she's got a boxfull in the back room

Yes I knew it would have sounded bad but the bag was auctioned at a reasonable price and I'd only had pleasant eBay purchases the entire time.

Item number: 171417831881

Item title: ROBINSON MINI DOUBLE ZIP TOTE - New & Authentic 100% - $495

I'll be filing a paypal claim after this reply

not only is the word "Authentic" used in the title it also says "P/S :  + Item is New & Authentic 100%, Sealed from manufacturer" in the description.  the seller may well be peeved at you asking whether the bag is authentic after the end of the auction.

If you have opened an 'Item Not Received' PayPal claim and they are able to prove posting and tracking then you may well lose, and not be able to open a subsequent claim when the item arrives.

If you have opened an 'Not As Described' PayPal claim and not enough time has passed for the item to have arrived all they need to do is show that you are making a spurious claim as you have not yet received the item.

Either way, a PayPal claim before a reasonable amount of time for the item to have arrived is maybe not a wise thing to do.  Oh wait, you were going to raise a claim after your 3.11am post . . . . . . hope you didn't!

Hahaha no I didn't, I read up on it and decided I'd wait for the item to come and check it out before I did anything else. Seller replied to my message offering to show me receipts but yes I hope it's authentic. Was concerned for other buyers as well seeing as designer bags were offered for $0.99!

Thanks for your input everyone! Will keep you all posted when I receive the item ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks putney32 for that info. I think I must have gotten confused with another item I bought that was being shipped
