Postage to Australia ridiculous...

Is that postage legit? That is insane $700 AUD to post to Australia.. I mean post overseas to here got so bad i literally stopped using Ebay almost completely but this one takes the cake..

179 Euros for the toys ok, they are some what rare, but EUR 385.00 approx. AU $626.57 for postage and Ebay allows this fraud..

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175671096810?

I solely use Aliexpress now i can buy on there the same products with a fraction of the postage, you lost yet another buyer Ebay..

Well, the OP had already fully decided it was 'fraud' so their mind was already made up

Regardless if it was a genuine mistake or not

The problem had already been solved. It was just a mistake, but sadly the OP doesn't seem to have come back so they probably don't know.

How do you know the problem had been solved? People were just coming up with different scenarios of what the issue could be.

It seems to be the most plausible scenario, considering the seller has similar listings (Iron Factory toys) with much cheaper postage.

Until the OP asks the seller and then comes back to let us know, of course we won't know for sure, but it seems to be quite likely that it was a mistake.

You thinking a problem has been solved, without any supporting facts, doesn't make it so.

It may well have been intentional. The items could be getting delivered in a 24ct gold box. Just because you think it's a mistake, doesn't mean it is. Unlikely the OP will be back to clarify.

Maybe they didn't get a reply from the seller because they don't speak English. There are plenty of people around the world who don't funnily enough. Even if they used a translator, what they read can be entirely different to what the message is meant to be, and make no sense at all.

Years ago, a friend went to France and decided to work as a Nanny while she was there. She took French lessons to try and make things a bit easier. She went into a shop, in a village where next to no one spoke any English. She wanted to buy a packet of cigarettes (it was the 80's, smoking wasn't taboo back then). She went in full of confidence and asked for said smokes. The person behind the counter started laughing. Apparently he was one of the few people who could speak some English. Instead of asking for cigarettes, she basically told him he had a gun in his foot.

Even today, translators can be quite unreliable at getting the correct message across.

Yes it was a mistake... look how much the price is now the postage is fixed. Some mistake. They lowered the postage and cranked up the price to be the same as before.. you don't make two mistakes..

The simple answer is, don't buy from them. Find someone else to buy from. Or, buy fakes from Aliexpress. It's your choice.
