Purchased item not working

Hi, I purchased a keyboard for my ipad on 08/03/2021 and after a while (14/6/2021) the item started to mistype keys etc.  I sent the seller a message advising same and had no reply.  I sent another message on 19/06/2021 and still have not had a reply.  The keyboard is not not being recognised by Bluetooth and I cannot use it.  I have since sent another message today and shall see what happens but do not believe it will be replied to.

I read the eBay policy and the 30 day period is over for money back.  I cannot even leave feedback now.  Surely this device would be still covered after not working in 3 months.

First time I have had a seller not respond to emails.  I suspect the sellers ratings have been manipulated given my experience.

Is there anything else I can do, I pad via paypal but I did receive the item, it just does not wok anymore.

thanks

Are you always this dishonest, or is it just for the Chinese sellers on eBay?
(which was you, racial profiling, btw ..) shame on you!!!!

No, I am usually very honest, but I think the buyer would be better off just saying to paypal he/she bought a faulty keyboard. That part is the truth.

And I am not racially profiling. It's well known and stated on here often that warranties from overseas aren't worth the paper they are written on and furthermore, the situation with regard to counterfeiting or copying is very different in China compared to Australia. That's not being racially prejudiced, it's just a statement of fact.

It's obvious to me the buyer isn't going to get any sort of reply from the seller.

Re: Purchased item not working

I just want to make it clear that I did not take issue with you on a personal level, my issue is having the advice you gave on the forums in a broad sense, giving justification to - and normalising - that kind of behaviour using the reasoning so many people who steal from sellers use. It doesn't even matter to me if it can be rationalised or justified in the specific context of this thread, it matters that this indicates broadly if you can rationalise or justify it somehow, it's ok. 😞

Imagine for a moment I gave similar advice to a seller, that buyers lie to and steal from sellers all the time, so just lie about what happened to ensure a buyer trying to get a refund this time doesn't get one.

That would be your best bet for getting a refund. And no, it is not entirely honest.

But then again, these Chinese sellers are not entirely honest either. They often sell stuff they state has a warranty, knowing full well that Australian buyers haven't a hope of ever making a claim on said warranty.

This is racial profiling!
You have just labeled all Chinese sellers on eBay as being dishonest!

..and then suggest that the buyer tell a few little lies himself!!

distgusting advice, Springy. 😞

No, they didn't buy a faulty keyboard. The keyboard they bought was working when they bought it. It was only after use for a few months that it stopped working. There is a difference.

I think your advice is dreadful. I would never in a million years suggest that someone lie to get a refund. Sellers are being dudded enough already with lies, so no need to flout it on a public forum.

How do you suggest they tell Paypal it was faulty, when they've been using it for 3 months?
