If the seller has an Australian business you can take it up with the ACCC.
Sorry to hear you were hurt..hope you are ok.
Notify eBay too, exactly what happened.
Only buy electrical goods that meet the Australian standards and have been approved...best to do that from a store here.

Thank you AEG, I have just found I can open a dispute with paypal, so I have done that, even though it was more than 90days ago purchase.
Im pretty angry to get the ZAP, greatful it wasnt one of the kids, but very angry that they didnt respond and then just blocked me. Thats pretty rude. They could have acknowledged fault and removed the item from sale and of course refunded my purchase.

Lesson learned the hard way - never buy anything electrical from China
Why not have solar lights around the pool?

To get back on topic, I bought some led lights from China and out of 15 only 1 is still working, now I avoid buying those things direct from China like the plague.

1. Electricity and water don't match.
2. There is a difference between waterproof and water resistant.
3. You weren't electrocuted - you got a shock. If you were electrocuted you would be dead. 240v won't kill you anyway unless you let it.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times it is said on the boards and on thousands of blogs, it doesn't matter how many times it is said on the news that somebody has died or their house has burnt down, it doesn't matter how many times it is reported in the newspapers, it doesn't matter what anyone says or does people will continue to buy cheap electrical items from overseas which can fry them because they think they are getting a bargain.

"240v won't kill you anyway unless you let it. "
Tell that to the 199 Australians, that were electrocuted and died between 2000 and 2011 all of which the coroner stated as unintental
PS definition of electrocution is "injure or kill (someone) by electric shock"
