Relating to opening a case- apparently I can't use Ebay, have to go through Paypal.Wierd.

Seems that I must go through Paypal, not Ebay. Why is this?Says the site is Australian. Why would that allow the seller to just not send things? I think they know something I don't. Victoria

Victoria, in Australia, the dispute process to make a claim against a seller is done through PayPal, a dispute opened through eBay will not get your money back.

Different countries do it differently.

As you now know from your previous post the time limit is 45 days from the sale date.

yes, PayPal is the way to go if that's how you paid.

eBay Australia do not offer any Buyer Protection for things sold on this site. (only in 3 countries, actually, and I think they are all backed by Paypal anyway.)

eBay owns PayPal BTW (I believe - I read it here, so it must be true)

It's not eBay allowing the seller not to send. That really has nothing to do with them, (or PayPal).

No one is allowing it, unless they neglect to enforce the contract.

I think that what they know that you don't, is the site rules and guidelines contained in the User Agreement.

Amber did have a very valid point in her post that got removed, unfortunately it was deleted, all of it............

Her point was that even though you can use eBay, you still need PayPal to be safe.
