Resolve a problem option?

Hi All,

Anyone know what happened to the resolve a problem option on our purchased items? How I do I now go to the resolution centre and get a refund for items I haven't received? When I try to report an issue I keep getting the notice that because my item wasn't purchased on or after Nov 1st eBay can't help me. I thought PayPal covered us for 40 days but I'm getting an error there too!
Argh why'd they have to go and change things?

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to help

Alicia

Re: Resolve a problem option?

write or ring ebay about it.
This is suppose to be the new and improved simplified process.

Re: Resolve a problem option?

I just had a look on mine and from the drop down menu click I didn't receive it. It will then take you to a page with all your purchases. click on the one you are having problems with. It then checks to see if their was a tracking number and tells you if it has been delivered or not. I can't tell you the steps after that as mine said delivered.

Re: Resolve a problem option?

I realise I am pointing out the obvious - with it so easy to give undeserved defects to buyers these days, I feel it necessary to ask tho:

a)   first step in every problem should be - contact the seller.    Have you asked the seller to follow up for you?

b)   what is the expected date in your purchase (see order details)?    Has that date expired?

c)   did the seller give you a tracking number?   If so, did you try putting the tracking no in Aust Post tracking and see if the parcel is en route.   If you have no tracking number, ask the seller for one.

d)   if after all these steps you want to proceed because the seller is unhelpful or does not refund voluntarily, I don't know where the "resolve a problem" has gone, but you are certainly entitled to paypal protection - try signing in to your paypal and use the Resolution Centre.

Re: Resolve a problem option?

If you are seeking to open an paypal claim and the eBay link is not leading you to paypal, you can open a claim directly from your paypal account - just find that transanction in paypal, click into it and at the bottom of the page click the link for the resolution centre.

Re: Resolve a problem option?

Have done all of the above, as you can see I'm not new to eBay. It has been over 30 days since I purchased the item and have given the seller a week to respond to several emails and nothing.

I get this error message from PayPal:
Error Message
This transaction cannot be disputed. Please go to the eBay Resolution Centre to review the program details for information on what to do next.
If you paid for an item and haven't received it or there's something wrong with it, we're here to help. Enter your transaction ID to get started (it must be within 180 calendar days of payment).

Then when I go through eBay this:

Sorry. You can't open a request for this item.
View order details
eBay Money Back Guarantee only covers items purchased from 01 Nov, 2014.Try to resolve the issue with your seller. If you paid with PayPal you may be eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.

So much for a simpler process 😞 others must be having these issues too.

so is there any option then to put in the transaction id?

Re: Resolve a problem option?

Typical eBay and Paypal incompetence. If all else fails, give Paypal a ring on 1800 073263 between 6am-10pm and the person you speak with will be able to lodge a dispute on your behalf. There's no point mucking about on-line because with the new claim periods in effect, they've probably screwed up the software good and proper, as they usually do.

Re: Resolve a problem option?

I tried against one of my paypal purchases - in paypal - chose the payment - resolution centre - haven't received the item - everything worked fine.

Another thought is maybe the item does not have paypal protection?   like tickets or something?
