Return to sender

So I bought an item on ebay, it is second hand/used the seller stated that it was in very good condition for its age, but when I got it, it was damaged and had been repaired, this was not stated in the description, so I messaged the seller attain the issue and they apologized for not noticing the damage, they told me to send it back in the original box and just write "return to sender" on the box and they will give me a full refund, so I did and I messaged them again stating that I had followed what they said to do, but what if I don't get my refund since I'll have no way of proving whether they got it back or not.

How do you expect ebay or paypal to help you when you don't follow the rules for returning items?

First, you can not Return To Sender when the item as been opened.  You also have no tracking if the seller says they never received the item back.

If your seller is honest you should get your refund.  If he is not then you will have to fight for it with no guarantee ot success.

Good luck.

Return to sender is for unopened unaccepted or incorrectly addressed mail only. Not a free way to send it back.
