I was asked to return items for a refund. Both the items were faulty . I arranged the return and 3 weeks later, i was told i would not be getting one .They had closed the case because i had not contacted them in 20 days . Well, naturally i would not as i had already sent the goods back (collected by DHL from my house), as requested, and was waiting for the promised refund.
so. the scammer (seller) has my money and the scammers,( EBAY) have the goods (working or not) .
I am about 95 bucks out of pocket and have nothing to show for it.
Nice scam EBAY!!

By the way, sorry for the rather rude reponse i gave you earlier. Was getting frustrated and probably did not explain the problem well enough . It is a long story

I did ask them . They would not have sent me an email with instructions on what to do, ie. how to return it if it was too late . I think they just got confused .I complained about not getting replacements and they must have taken it for not getting the original items, which obviously i did or i could not have returned them, That is what happens when they pass you from one person to another and you can't talk to them in person

How did you ask them? Via the dispute, or did you use live chat? What dispute did you open? Item not received, or item not as described? If you opened not received, then if the seller can show tracking as delivered, the dispute will close automatically.
When you sent a message, you were messaging the seller, not ebay. Ebay don't sell anything. They are purely an advertising platform. This is not Amazon. Chinese sellers are notorious for stringing things out so they don't have to refund. They said they would replace, but a replacement is never going to be sent. It's purely a stalling tactic so you run out of time to make a claim. Never ever accept an offer of a replacement. EVER.
It wasn't too late for a return, which is why you were able to send it back. As I said in my previous message, you didn't follow up with it and ask ebay to step in and help, so the dispute closed automatically. You let it go too long without doing anything. No more than 20 days from opening a dispute. No amount of ranting is going to change it unfortunately.
I will quote what you posted earlier:
"How many more times do i have to say it? I Did return it in time .EBAY told me they were putting a stop on it to allow me to get it back in time . I had it collected by DHL as instructed but 3 weeks later the case was closed because, they said, i didn ot contact them during that time. What was there to contact them about?"
What was there to contact them about? You needed to escalate the claim (ask ebay to step in and help)! That's what you needed to contact them about. Letting it go is the mistake you made. You ignored the claim. Plus closing the chargeback with your bank. WHY??????
As I said, sadly, you have lost your money this time, to a dodgy Chinese seller (join the queue). Learn from it and don't let it happen again.

I can sense your frustration. You've followed what you thought were all the prompts, only to find that you haven't received any refund as expected.
If ebay asked you to return the goods, I am assuming they must have known it was an item not as described claim rather than of an item not received.
From what I understand of that process, (from what I read in another, different thread), is that if the seller issues you with a return label, you need to upload tracking so that ebay can see it actually has been returned. But if ebay itself steps in and issues a label, then that doesn't apply as they have the tracking details.
So if I understand you rightly, ebay issued you with a label & you posted it back to the hub, not the seller?
I know everyone says you have to escalate a claim & I can understand that when it is for an item not received, but you know what, I can't see why it can't be an automated process of refund once a return has been okayed and tracking shows the item has in fact been returned.
The only thing I can think of is that the seller may not have the goods either. I believe that regardless of whether the stipulated number of days has passed or not, you are entitled to know, at the very least, where your items are. It's not good enough for ebay to just say you've timed out. Contact them again, ask to speak to a supervisor or whatever (even if it is via chat) and have all your details written out. Sometimes something that seems crystal clear to you because you've been immersed in the process is not clear to others & you need to have it very clear for the ebay reps.
Things such as what type of claim you made, the dates of sale, date of opening the claim, who issued the return label, where the item was returned to & keep asking where the goods are now.
I know rules need to be followed but as with any rule, there needs to be some flexibility. Ebay needs to have another look. You may not succeed but it is worth having another try.

From what I can gather, you haved returned the item via Hubbed Returns (label provided via ebay)
So the return does have a tracking number and you should be able to Track the item via Hubbed, or contact Hubbed to ascertain what happened to the return.
Possibly the return did not make it back to the seller in time, returned late, or return failed.
Anyway, Contact Hubbed to find out what happened. One thing for certain, ebay does not have the items, as they are returned to the seller, not ebay.
Edit.
Just to add, I don,t know if the hubbed tracking is auto loaded to the ebay return case, or if you were supposed to upload the tracking.

It’s fine; if I took offence easily, I’d have evaporated into a mist of Niobean affront.
I’ve not used eBay’s Hubbed Returns. I agree with gutterpunkz; get in touch with Hubbed and find out what the tracking number was, and what’s happened.

All's well that ends well?
You have marked one of your posts as a solution, so obviously you have sorted it out.
